Lauren & Chris {Woodlands of Marburg}

Lauren and Chris’s wedding was absolutely stunning! Lauren’s style is so soft but sophisticated and I just loved everything about their day.

And the weather was blue skies and warm breezes – you can’t ask for more!Lauren was a fun and relaxed bride!
Her gown is amazing isn’t it?
I just adore this image of Lauren and her mum. Sigh.The kiss!!I don’t often share the family photos but thought today I would…Woodlands of Marburg is stunning isn’t it?I think this is one of my all time favourites!!The light was all but gone here but I just love this image…

Congratulations Lauren and Chris and thank you so much for sharing your day with me and allowing me to photograph one of the most important and memorable days of your lives.

Deena & Ben {Loft Westend}

Deena and Ben’s wedding was one of those truly magical days.

There was just something in the air.  They are a gorgeous couple who are so in love, they have an adorable little girl, Ivy. Actually that is how I first met Deena and Ben, I photographed Ivy as a newborn.

Deena and Ben were surrounded by all the people that love them best and you could really feel everyone’s excitement and joy. It was such a pleasure to be a part of such a day and witness it and capture it for them to remember many years from now.

The day started with preparations at Rydges at Southbank.
Then it was time for the ceremony at the Nepalese Pagoda at Southbank.I love Ben’s face here as he watched Deena make her way up the aisle.Ivy spotted her grandparents and decided it was more fun to hang out with them…Because we had lots of ground to cover in the Southbank area Deena and Ben hired the Green Cabs to get all of us (me included ) all the places we needed to go.  So much easier for the girls than rushing around in their high heels and so much more fun!I think this is one of my favourite shots from the day – I just love the way Deena and Ben are looking at each other.We had to include some of the Brisbane views, Deena and Ben had just moved back the week before their wedding after living in North Queensland for a few years. They were excited and happy to be back!The reception was at the new Loft at West End – this was the venue’s first wedding. I’ve been noticing a real trend in weddings away from traditional style venues to more relaxed but fun hotels and venues.This wedding had guest who laughed a lot and had a lot of fun.The speeches were fun, funny and touching – I think that’s the best kind of speech!After Ben and Deena shared a few words with each other and their guests it was time to get out on the dance floor and they did just that.

Deena, Ben and Ivy, thank you so much for sharing your wonderful wedding day with me.

Family Fun {Boonah Portrait Photographer}

I had such a great time with this sweet family. We opted for an early morning photo session. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea – hoping out of bed so early on a weekend, but sometimes early mornings are the best time for the really small people in our lives so for this photo session we did just that.

We took a drive out to an area that I had almost forgotten about – it has a wonderful swimming hole and I’m so glad we went to this beautiful spot. I took my kids out quite a few times for a swim before the weather turned cold.

It was such a beautiful spot and the kids had fun exploring along the river and climbing big trees.

Bec & Michael {Branell Homestead}

Bec and Michael’s wedding was completely fun and fantastic! The setting was Branell Homestead just outside Laidley. It was the perfect setting and a perfect day.

They  were amazingly relaxed but they had put a huge amount of time and effort into planning and preparing. I think most of the credit might just go to Bec for the amazing decorations. I think the word amazing may be bandied around a lot in this post!

But you will see for yourself the little touches that made this wedding different and special. There were a few firsts for me at Bec and Michael’s wedding too….first chickens and first roller-skates. Now – chickens and roller-skates aren’t common elements at weddings. The roller-skates are more easily explained than the chickens!

Bec and her bridesmaids are roller derby girls, so of course we had to incorporate that into our photo shoot. Seeing a bride in skates is a little scary but thank goodness Bec is super skilled in them! Now the chickens were a little more random. Bec and Michael and their wedding crew had been staying at Branell Homestead a few days leading up to the wedding and I think Michael made friends with them prior to the wedding. Bec was pretty reluctant to have a chicken join her photoshoot and she was probably right – who knew chickens love to eat bridal bouquets! The chicken was worth it for the laughs.

One of my favourite parts of this wedding was the outdoor reception. I think it takes a bit of courage to have an outdoor reception, but at Branell the option to move everything undercover was there. Thankfully though the weather was stunning and the outdoor reception was able to proceed. I love love love string lights – I’m still trying to buy some so if anyone knows where to get some please fill me in…..Bec’s hard work and effort before the wedding paid off – everything looked completely awesome. This day was filled with lots and lots of fun and laughter and great people. Congratulations guys – and thanks for sharing it with me!

Oh my goodness Shelia. What an awesome wedding, so much to love – the roller skating, the beautiful styling including all the mismatched chairs – the groom kicking his leg up during the kiss. All of it is amazing and perfectly captured by you.

Beautiful. What a gorgeous wedding!!

Wow, what a beautiful wedding. Love her dress and the styling x

Wow these are just beautify pull! What a stunning bride and a perfect location!

Eeek – love, love, love!!! Awesome coverage – so many beautiful photos.

Cassie & Trent

Today I get to share the gorgeous wedding of Cassie and Trent.

Both Cassie and Trent got ready at their family homes. They also got each other a gift – watching Cassie’s expression as she laid eyes on her vintage type writer was a really special part of the day. Trent had a love letter to Cassie ready for her to read – yep she got teary! It was also inscribed on metal with their wedding details. What a way to start a marriage.

The ceremony was held in a little park over looking the Storybridge.  It was a magical little spot that suited their wedding down to a T.  After a short and sweet ceremony and a romantic kiss sealing the vows we headed off to the Brisbane Polo Club for some photos on their balcony and a little trip to the botanical gardens. Cassie and Trent’s reception was beautifully detailed with vintage cameras, old photos, books and gorgeous illustrations done by a friend. The speeches were full of love and good will for Cassie and Trent and not to mention a lot of laughs. It was such a please being part of their day. Also a big shout out to Fo from Moss Green for assisting me on the day. Thanks for having me photograph your day. It was such a pleasure to be there with you both.
